Al's whacky cyber world!

Al's whacky cyber worldWelcome to my whacky cyber world! There are many things in my site that maybe of interest to you; as they are to me. There's my hobbies & interests, lots & lots of jokes, my favourite links, my portfolio (many of my web sites, projects & TAFE samples), family history, including some pictures of my family (for Family Members ONLY), my private area and of course the many ways you can contact me. There are many ways to navigate throughout my site. You can use the links at the left side of this page. Alternately, you can use the menu along the bottom.

I've been mucking around with web sites for the pasted 8 years since my good mate 'Smiley' first taught me. I still have copies of those first versions but unfortunately they don't work in these modern browsers. I originally learnt my web craft with MS Frontpage (I knew no better); then along came Dreamweaver. Now I know there are other programs out there but, this program does make life easier for a novice. During my TAFE course in 2005, I learnt how to use Dreamweaver better than I had by mucking around with it myself, using the helps files and sample tutorials. As for browsers, I thoroughly recommend you download the latest version of Mozilla FireFox. Websites look much sharper and for some reasons they work better than IE. And if you are into doing a bit of website designing yourself, I again thoroughly recommend you have a look at Stu Nicholl's fantastic website. It has many many fantastic samples which (most of) are free to use for private purposes. The ideas and sample codes are a godsend. I have used lots of his samples in a few of my sites. He was also kind enough to vary a photo layout especially for me. Also I love PHP. Just makes life a little easier for a novice like me with some of the fancy stuff, and my database stuff.

What's up next!

under construction

As you can see the site is under construction and of course there are bound to be many changes from time to time. These changes will not only be of the content but the layout as well. As I learn new ways, or find a better solution, or feel the need to change or someone tells me its wrong I'll change it. If you ever feel the need to let me know what you think of my site, please contact me or leave comments through the feedback link.

So for now, enjoy my site as it is and please keep coming back and watch it grow. You never know I might even add your suggestions.

Cheers!!!!!
Al
